The 4th edition of Virtual TESI Higher Education and Career Guidance Fair shall take place on Friday, April 05, 2024, online via Google Meet, starting at 03:00pm. This is an annual event that happens in the month of April, and covers a wide of issues concerning education. Most importantly, this event has made it into the 4th year, and I am excited! We started it, together with Desire, in 2021 during Covid-19 chaotic period.
If you have been following this blog, you should know that I founded TESI in 2019 (as Centre for Skills & Innovations), and later got it registered in July 2022, as Triskelion Education and Skills Initiative (TESI). So, I therefore do most of my other educational programmes & activities under TESI. Within TESI, I have a team of impact-driven young people that I work with.
This year, TESI is glad to be organizing the Higher Education & Career Guidance Fair that shall take place this week. The theme is “Breaking academic barriers“, and it was fronted by Rosemary, one of our first mentees of our transformative TESI Mentorship programme. She graduated this January from Makerere University, with B.A. with Education. During the career guidance fair, she will be speaking about the importance of mentorship, especially for university students.
Since 2021, we have held only virtual events. However, this year, we are strongly considering a physical, in-person event. We have already secured the venue, Lira Town College. What remains now are sorting out the usual logistics & technicalities of hosting a large number of people. And other issues are still pending – do we make people pay to attend or not? Does TESI have to meet related costs (sanitation & cleaning, scholastic materials, water etc). Of course we shall discuss these and decide the right and workable path.
